Success in training and employment

TAFE Australia Civil College is honoured to work with students and businesses to achieve positive outcomes in both training and employment.

Below are just a few of those success stories!

KatrinaHey guys!

Just letting you know I’m still on the coast I’ve taken the civil labourer job for now as the Workpac/Lendlease start date keeps getting backdated. However I think the boys here like me! I think I’m doing something right! 🙂 Today (my third day) they let me have a play in this bad boy! Yew!! Stoked. Thank you champions for helping me out!!

BotharLogoWe have been more than impressed with the quality of students with a number gaining employment as plant operators/labourers, apprentices or trainees. The strength of our training and recruitment partnership are that all students have a good understanding of current WHS, environmental and quality requirements and responsibilities, have been well informed on rules and procedures required for working on different construction sites, can competently operate multiple pieces of mobile plant and are ready for work with required site entry certifications. Two students have received NSW TAFE State Training awards and clients site Safety Achievement awards which we are very proud of as an organisation!

I got a job! Excellent training. The trainers had extensive, real life experience and gave me plenty of tips and tricks on how to operate an excavator in a more efficient and productive manner. They were relaxed and, after showing and stepping me through assignments, left me alone to practice and learn. Gave me assignments that would be practical in the real world. Also gave me more hours at no extra cost. Have recommended them to family and friends.

Even after working with and around machines in the civil construction industry for two and a half years I still learnt things I’d never been taught or shown before.
I would highly recommend diggaschool to anyone looking to get a start in the industry.

The training I received from All Excavations Training was second to none! Jeff and Peter are not interested in just taking your money and slapping a ticket in your hand. They take the time to go through all the theory and practical sides of operating the machine thoroughly so you are not left there scratching your head when you’re sitting in the seat of the machine in a work environment. I’m now applying the skills taught to me in a new job working in northern Western Australia laying a pipeline and couldn’t be happier!

I just did a Certificate III in Civil Construction through your campus at Grafton. My experience was awesome due to the fact of a great teacher Michael Mercer. Michael has a great ability to appeal to all sorts in the class, he kept us focussed and interested brought his vast experience in the trade he was instructing. Thank you very much and please pass on my thanks to Michael Mercer.

I would like to say a big thank you to all the people who had implemented this training. This is so exciting for my son who maintained his self-esteem by exercising positive thoughts of “What happens next? When do I get a job? When I complete this program? Where to next? This is my dream!” and then packing his lunch and taking himself to this new career adventure. Now his life has turned around 180 degrees and he says that he owes it to the training opportunity and mentoring he has received at TAFE, with his teacher Rob and all the crew who gave him the support to learn.

Thank you from Brenda and Dean

I work with CR Rail doing railway maintenance and since doing this course I have gained my confidence and understanding about a lot of stuff that was done in the course. I am driving machinery and have done some compacting, surveying, draining and dewatering and without the guidance of this course and the trainers Kerry and Travis, a lot of what I’m doing would not be possible.
